Services

At Cognitive Canvas Psychology, we are committed to providing you with upfront flat-fee pricing, so you know how much an evaluation will cost, without having to estimate hourly rates or how long an assessment may take. We understand how tough it is to find an evaluator that meets your needs, and we believe that offering you options and transparent pricing will ease this process.

My fees for all evaluations and services are listed below. A complete psycho-educational assessment or neuro-perspective psycho-educational evaluation is often recommended, because these offer a more thorough and integrated understanding of the client and the numerous variables that may influence learning and achievement. However, more targeted assessments are also available for specific referrals, such as those that pertain to potential learning disabilities, autism, ADHD, career/vocational interests, and giftedness. We offer bilingual assessments and counseling sessions in Spanish, as well as translation services, to meet the needs of our Spanish-speaking families.

Our various evaluations, including specific components and fees associated with each, are described below. If you need a more customized assessment than the offerings below, potentially because you already had some components completed, please contact me for an individualized assessment plan. Individualized assessment plans and adjusted costs can be provided depending on the specific referral questions/concerns.

Neuro-Perspective Psycho-Educational Evaluation

Cost: $4,500

Additional areas of evaluation may include performance-based assessments for ADHD or autism, as well as assessments for identifying dyslexia, dyscalculia, and/or dysgraphia, depending on the referral question. This evaluation aims to identify the specific cause of a student’s difficulties and may be appropriate for students who have previously undergone a psycho-educational evaluation but still have difficulties. *Note: This evaluation does not test specific brain functions in the same manner as a neuropsychologist or psychiatrist.

Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE)

*Will work to meet district limits for IEEs. Contact us for pricing.

Purpose: At times, schools and families desire an outside perspective on a student’s strengths, needs, and special education eligibility. A parent has the right to request a second opinion within 2 years of a school evaluation if they disagree with the results. School districts typically have procedures in place for requesting an IEE at public expense, and for allowing parents to select an evaluator that meets district requirements. An IEE is conducted by an evaluator who does not work for the child’s school district or public charter school, and who does not demonstrate a conflict of interest with any involved participants. IEEs include a comprehensive review of all educational records that are made available at the time of the evaluation, interviews, observations, and a new assessment battery that addresses all suspected areas of concern. IEEs are more involved than comprehensive psycho-educational assessments, because they include an intensive record review of previous assessments, observations in the educational setting, and participation in the IEP meeting.

Components:

  • All components of the comprehensive psycho-educational evaluation PLUS:
  • Collaboration with school district regarding meeting specific requirements for IEEs (e.g., insurance, testing site, fees, etc.)
  • Interviews and rating scales completed with classroom teacher(s)
  • Various observations in educational setting
  • Comprehensive Report provided prior to IEP meeting
  • Participation at IEP meeting to present assessment results
  • *Note: School district must consider IEE findings, but this evaluation does not guarantee any specific special education eligibilities, placements, programs/intervention to be implemented by the school district.
  • *Note: Does not include bonus consultation/teletherapy sessions.

Purpose: At times, schools and districts need help catching up with assessments for many reasons, including an influx of new referrals or a “heavy IEP season.” Cognitive Canvas Psychologist is happy to help and has substantial experience managing caseloads and conducting initial, triennial, and re-evaluations. Please contact us to discuss your needs and to obtain a quote. We are willing to comply with all district requirements for outside contractors.
