Where Every Client Begins With A Blank Canvas

Our Mission:

At Cognitive Canvas Psychology our mission is to help paint bright futures for dynamic minds by offering comprehensive evaluations, counseling services, teletherapy, and consultation. This paired with our individualized recommendations for each client and our expertise with working with neurodivergent individuals can help diverse learners excel. At our practice, each client begins with a blank canvas where we consider specific needs and then formulate an individualized action plan for carefully assessing and providing recommendations for target areas. Our specialties include assessing for learning disabilities (e.g., dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia), ADD/ADHD, autism, intellectual ability, giftedness, executive functioning, academic ability, and social-emotional functioning, along with Spanish-bilingual assessments.

Sample Target Areas

Cognitive Ability

Cognitive ability, frequently referred to as general intelligence, pertains to an individual's capacity to perceive, process, comprehend, recall, and apply information, as well as to engage in problem-solving, learning, and critical thinking.

Executive Funtioning

A set of complex mental and cognitive processes (e.g., working memory, impulse control, reasoning, sustained attention, problem-solving, etc.) that influence a person's ability to plan, organize tasks, recall details, manage time, and successfully execute goal-oriented behavior.

Academic Ability

Refers to an individual's level of proficiency in academic tasks involving reading fluency, reading comprehension, written expression, spelling, computation, and/or mathematical reasoning.

Social-Emotional Functioning

Relates to a person's ability to experience, control, and express emotions, appropriately manage behavior, develop relationships, and interact with their surroundings. Social-emotional functioning also includes self-regulation, self-concept, coping skills, and conflict resolution.

Are You Finally Ready to Reach Your Potential? We Have the Tools to Assist You!

How We Can Help

At Cognitive Canvas Psychology, we offer an array of services to help individuals excel in the academic settings. Our assessments are appropriate for individuals ages 4 to adult, and we specialize in comprehensive psycho-educational evaluations, academic assessments, cognitive and gifted testing, vocational assessments, autism and ADHD evaluations & diagnoses, assessments for adult learners seeking accommodations, and more! We also collaborate with school districts to complete independent educational evaluations and to cover overflow assessments. Additional specializations include bilingual assessments and English-to-Spanish translation of educational documents.

Are you worried that your child is not reaching his/her academic potential?

Are you an adult learner who may be in need of additional support to excel? Do you think you may have ADHD?

We can help by discussing your specific needs and customize an action plan for assessment and/or counseling.

We have flexible options for both in-person counseling & teletherapy.

We offer an array of assessments & services for clients ages 4 to adult.

Why Choose Us?

With experience shifting from a leadership role as a school psychologist in a district to private practice, we understand both the complexities of the educational system and the best strategies for identifying and addressing all areas of student strength and weakness.

Unlike school districts, which often only have the means to assess the most at-risk students, or those who have undergone academic and/or behavioral intervention with limited progress, we take a proactive approach by assessing all students. Moreover, in comparison to typical 60-day timelines adhered to in school, we deliver your completed comprehensive reports and schedule feedback sessions within just 10 business days from the completion of assessments, rating scales, & observations!
